Begin with who does what

A strategy supplies trading decisions; a copying system connects eligible instructions to an account; a broker provides the trading account and execution. CopyTradingHQ explains the process and analyses historical records. In the Sonic setup described here, CopyX is the connection system and Tag Markets is the broker. These roles should not be confused with ownership of the user’s deposit.

Learn to read one trade

Find a closed record and identify its instrument, direction, opening time, closing time, entry price, exit price and reported P/L. A buy benefits from a price rise before costs; a sell benefits from a fall. The account’s contract terms determine how a price movement translates into dollars. A historical record is not a suggestion to repeat the trade today.

Understand the return being shown

Distinguish source-account P/L, modelled follower-equivalent return and your own possible account outcome. The performance page uses a selected period, while the calculator lets you explore capital and reinvestment assumptions. Both require the stated fee and calibration context. Historical illustrations do not predict future returns or recreate every execution condition an actual account would experience.

Review the setup before funding

Use the guide to understand registration, email verification, account setup, KYC, approval and funding. Then review the actual strategy details and current settings with the provider. Do not assume an account is active because you have read a guide. Only the broker or platform can confirm the real account’s approval and connection state.

Plan for ongoing attention

Automatic copying still leaves decisions with you: reviewing costs, monitoring positions, checking current terms and understanding how to stop. Ask how existing trades are handled when a connection ends. Funding and withdrawal arrangements vary. You do not need to rush from learning to registering; begin with the evidence and the risks, and resolve unclear terms before taking action.

A first-session checklist can be short: identify the account provider, locate one loss in the ledger, explain gross versus net, and find the procedure for stopping copying. If any step is unclear, the next useful action is further reading or provider clarification.
