Gold quoted in US dollars
XAUUSD is the market notation for gold priced in US dollars. In the Sonic source history, the instrument is normalized as XAUUSD so that a platform-specific suffix does not create a separate apparent market.
The symbol identifies what is being traded, but it does not describe all contract terms. Lot size, pricing conventions, margin and charges must be checked in the broker’s specification for the particular account.
Direction changes how price movement affects a trade
A buy position benefits from a rise in the relevant price before costs; a sell position benefits from a fall. Movement in the opposite direction creates a loss. Costs and execution prices affect the final recorded result.
The ledger shows both buy and sell trades. A directional label is a record of the position, not a recommendation to take the same position now. Historical entry and exit prices belong to the recorded period.
CFD exposure is not physical gold
A leveraged gold CFD provides financial exposure to changes in the price. It does not mean the account holder receives physical gold. Deposited capital supports the trading exposure under the account’s terms.
Amplification can magnify both gains and losses. The ability to take a larger position does not make the market movement more predictable, and the additional trading capacity is not cash that can be withdrawn.
Short-duration does not mean low risk
Sonic’s stated style is short-duration trading, commonly described as scalping. A shorter intended holding period does not remove price, execution or liquidity risk. A source record may also remain open longer than the general strategy description suggests.
In fast or illiquid conditions, a requested entry or exit price may be unavailable. Slippage or gaps can change the final outcome. The actual follower execution can differ from the strategy’s source execution.
Read an XAUUSD record in context
Look at direction, opening and closing times, prices, lots, reported P/L and duration together. Provider Gain is a rounded source percentage. It is separate from the calibrated monthly follower-equivalent returns shown elsewhere on the site.
The current source does not specify separate commissions, swaps or a confirmed gross/net basis for master P/L, so we label it source-reported P/L rather than inventing a cost breakdown. A complete picture includes both the available facts and the missing ones.
Use the trade ledger to inspect records and the methodology to understand how they are grouped. Neither the source’s market focus nor its past results establishes future profitability.
